Who We Are
Here at the Fort Lauderdale Alumnae and Patroness Chapter (FTLAC) of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, we have created a multigenerational chapter that is determined to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music. Since our installation, we have been determined to make an impact in the South Florida community. The core of our efforts are shown in our past recognitions. Our chapter is located in the Lambda A Province in Region VI. The chapter currently is consisted of 30 active members that come together from all over South Florida. Through all of our endeavors, our chapter continues to study the beauty of music and never falters in seeking loving service, wisdom, and understanding. Advocacy
Reinforcing our Commitment
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find ways to support music education and music in our communities. Advocacy is something that we take very seriously, and our chapter is adamant about keeping the importance of music alive. We work to provide a positive impact through our love of music.
Support of our Community
One Step at a Time
At the Fort Lauderdale Alumnae and Patroness Chapter, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the importance of music education, and music throughout the world. Supporting this cause is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we have facilitated progress in supporting our local community.
Our chapter awards a $500 music education grant to an elementary school, middle school, or music based organization in rotating years between Broward and Palm Beach County. The grant benefits the music education programs within the school or organization. Our grant has funded instrument repairs, equipment for specialized student programs, and even purchasing of ensemble music.
