Chapter Affiliation Process
Step 1: Contact Us and Join Us At A Meeting or Event
To learn more about the Fort Lauderdale Alumnae and Patroness Chapter contact us here, or stop by our Facebook or Instagram page and direct message us there. We’re happy to answer your questions, and we encourage all interested women to join us for a meeting or social event before affiliating. Check out our upcoming events.
Step 2: Join the National Alumnae Association
Prior to affiliating with our chapter, you will first need to join the National Alumnae Association. Please email National Headquarters with your name, initiating chapter, and school to be sent a personal link. Through this link, you will be able to pay your National dues of $50. Our Vice-President, Membership will be able to assist you with any specific questions related to this step.
Step 3: Affiliation with Our Chapter
Once you have successfully joined the National Alumnae Association, you are eligible to affiliate with any alumnae chapter. Our Vice-President, Membership will complete some internal forms on your behalf. Just like your initiation into SAI, there is a special ceremony for your to affiliation with an alumnae chapter.

I Don't Live In The Fort Lauderdale Area. Can I Still Join?
Yes! Our chapter consists of members from all over South Florida - particularly from Palm Beach to Miami-Dade County. We hold meetings and events once a month at the home of members. Based on your preferences regarding location and meeting availability, you may also want to consider another chapter in the Lambda A Province - Miami Alumnae and Patroness Chapter.
I Was Not A Member in College. Can I Still Join The Chapter?
Yes! Please reach out to us to ask about the process of becoming a Patroness Member.
What's The Time Commitment?
Our chapter meetings typically occur once a month and each meeting lasts approximately two hours. Meetings happen in the early afternoons. We understand if you cannot attend all meetings - minutes are sent out to members following each business and informal meeting.
What Are Dues Like?
All alumnae members pay a $50 annual national dues which is paid independently through the SAI Shop on the national website.

Members of the Fort Lauderdale Alumnae and Patroness Chapter pay an additional $40 in local dues ($20 for members who affiliate in our Spring term) - which we put toward our budget and philanthropic endeavors.
